A funeral marks the end of our human life on earth. It is an opportunity for family and friends to share in their grief, to give thanks for a life that has now completed its journey in this world and to commend their soul to the love and mercy of God. 

 

Funerals can be quiet and informal occasions with only close family and friends present, or a much fuller service with hymns and readings and a packed building. They can take place in church, at a crematoria or simply at the graveside. Whatever form a funeral takes, it speaks powerfully of the love God has for all his creation and the preciousness of every single human life in his sight. 

When a death occurs, the first point of contact is usually a Funeral Director. They will then contact the church to arrange a date and time for the service. A member of the clergy will then be in contact with you to arrange a meeting to discuss the service.
