A Floral Delight

For our patronal festival, and to celebrate our 1200th anniversary, local flower arrangers were invited to display their creations in church...

and what a show they put on. Inspired by our beautiful East Window, the flower artists depicted scenes of Southend, the delights of the flower garden, and the wonders of the natural world.
It is said that "one is never closer to God than in a garden". I'd say our church came at least second best over the late May bank holiday weekend. Flower arrangers from Shoeburyness, Thorpe Bay, Southchurch, Eastwood, Leigh-on-Sea and Canvey transformed Holy Trinity into a magical 'cathedral of flowers'.
Just look at the pictures below...

Congratulations to all the flower arrangers, and our thanks to Margaret Jones and all those who helped with the flower festival and the accompanying family fun day.
As Margaret said:
"Many, many thanks are given to all those exhibitors. Some have travelled far, and all worked so hard to give us a wonderful display. I can't thank them enough for all their help and expertise."
